about

Erin Patricia Sankey is a visual artist working and living in Vienna. She finished her diploma in Fine Arts in June of 2026, having studied painting under Judith Eisler at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and graduated from Ohio State University in 2017 with dual B.A. degrees in Philosophy and German.

Sankey conveys her fascination with logic, contradiction, and the subjectivity of human experience through her mise-en-scène approach to painting. She employs motifs from her personal visual language as free agents in the system of her oeuvre - playing with the interlocution between actors as they repeat, change, and interact across works.

She has recently exhibited at Backyard Archive, Parallel Vienna, Pilot, and the Sigmund Freud Museum.
